Behavior Management Each year, our staff works together to tighten and shore up our Tier 1 program in both academics and social emotional learning. As a result, we are confident that District 56 students now know and understand the behavioral expectations of the district. When students struggle to demonstrate these expected behaviors they work through a system of progressive disciplinary steps and supports that are meant to help the student identify the problem behavior, recognize alternative behaviors or strategies for more appropriately dealing with the feelings, emotions, or situations that contributed to their choices and to afford them with opportunities to develop plans for greater success in the future.
Primary Points of Contact Your child's classroom teacher should be the primary point of contact for any question or concern related to behavior and or disciplinary action. In the rare event that he or she is unable to successfully address your need, they will work with you and our behavior facilitator to resolve any issues. Should there still be any need, our Assistant Principal will be able to get involved in order to support you and your child. By working through this progression, we can assure that all student and family needs are met in a timely and productive manner.
